After reading A List Apart, I decided to try and redo my static site’s index page and get the same look as the original but without all the tables. After a few hours and some frustration with nesting, I now have a tableless index page. To compare you can visit the original index here and the new index here. It was a very interesting exercise and I learned a lot about CSS by doing it. I highly recommend A List Apart for anyone designing content for the Web.
